INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE & YOGA
Through an intense curriculum in either Bharatanatyam/Kathak or Yoga, each Shakti girl trains her body, mind and spirit to excel in her choice of skill.
She also gets diplomas and degrees in these forms of ancient arts to be able to teach should she wish to. She also gets multiple professional opportunities for performances in India and abroad to gain confidence and sharpen her skills.
FOLK & FINE ARTS
Learning folk arts brings the girls closer to the cultures of their country and the world. Some Shaktis also train seriously in Fine and Visual arts. We observe each child for their particular inherent affinity towards a skill and then nurture their passion in a professional way.
To truly excel at school, Shakti girls are supported with all academic tuitions for free. We believe skill based vocational education should run parallel with regular modern education of academics. The girls will then truly have a choice in their careers.
The Shakti vegetable Juice is an antioxidant powerhouse developed by our Chief Empowerment Officer and former National Level Badminton player- Hemangi Bhatnagar. Our staff and students drink this daily along with a banana or two for a nourishing boost.
LIFE SKILL TRAINING
VALUES & MORALS
The world today more than ever needs beautiful human beings, inside out. To truly balance emotions is an art that is much needed to succeed in this world.
At Shakti we use various Eastern philosophies to teach girls about who they really are. Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, Yoga Sutras and much more form our special curriculum.
GIRLS ARE OFTEN NEGLECTED.
ARTS ARE OFTEN SIDELINED.
ARTISTS HAVE LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES.
WE CAN CHANGE THE STATUS QUO.
Economically weaker girls in India often live a mute existence. Classical and Folk Artistes in India have limited means of earning an income. By connecting the two, we not only empower the girls, but we also empower the artist to continue this precious line of work. India has one of the richest cultural heritage in the world. Through our continuous work at Sarvam Foundation we have a vast network of artistes to help bring more art forms to more girls in need.
