Founding Story

It was during a TEDxPune conference in 2010 when the Sarvam founder, Mrs. Nehha Bhatnagar was invited to speak on the creative use of dance that the seeds of change were sown. The brainstorming that followed the conference session, really set the ball rolling on ideas that would eventually become the cornerstone of Sarvam Foundation and Sarvam Shakti.

Thank you team at TEDx Pune :D

In 2012, Nehha Bhatnagar took a humble step by starting to teach a handful of young girls under the comforting shade of a tree. Little did she know that this small initiative would evolve into something extraordinary. In the following years, inspired by her experiences and driven by her passion, Sarvam Foundation came into existence and was officially registered in 2014. She had witnessed firsthand how in India, only the privileged had the opportunity to appreciate and learn fine arts, and intricate ancient cultural art forms like Indian Classical Dances, which can be equated to Ballet in the Western world. This disparity troubled her until she put a step forward to envision a world where every marginalized child could not only learn the beautiful art of Indian Classical Dance but also find within it, a sense of identity and a set of holistic life skills. This creative vision led to the inception of the Sarvam Foundation and later on, its key project, Sarvam Shakti, a groundbreaking project dedicated solely to empowering young marginalized girls, instilling in them the true inner power of Shakti:)

Sarvam Foundation stands as a testament to the incredible power of dreams and the determination to turn them into reality.

Today, the Shakti project supports more than 300 marginalized girls in 3 Indian states in world-class skill training and nutrition!

Nehha Bhatnagar, a former world-class Bharatnatyam dancer, embarked on a mission to empower marginalized girls through the art of Bharatanatyam. She trained 20 girls for six years, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their talents in Poland (Brave Kids Festival and other programs) annually.

As a founder, Mrs. Bhatnagar played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between classical dance training for young marginalized girls. The Sarvam Shakti project further diversified its offerings by training girls in Hatha Yoga, significantly improving their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. It balanced their emotions and enhanced their decision-making abilities. Under the Shakti project, girls not only receive classical dance training but also benefit from supplementary nutrition programs, life skills, and values. The focus was on helping them discover their self-worth. Meanwhile, the Sarvam Foundation gained recognition in Indian art circles for promoting and preserving India's art forms through creative events and collaborations.

Non-Profit Organization

Sarvam Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to empowering women and young girls from marginalized backgrounds through education, healthcare, and skill training. Our organization is committed to creating a brighter future for women everywhere, and we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of women in need.

We believe that education is a powerful tool for women's empowerment, and through our project Sarvam Shakti, we strive to liberate and empower a young girl child, hailing from a less privileged background to lead a life of holistic well-being, spanning emotional, mental, spiritual and physical dimensions. By providing women with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, we help to break down barriers and promote gender equality. In addition to education, we also focus on healthcare. We believe that every woman has the right to access quality healthcare services, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Through our Shakti Sanjeevani program, we aim to cover the nutritional gap in girls and women, through the regular distribution of mixed vegetable and fruit juice, popularly known as Shakti Juice at Sarvam center, since it consists of more than 15 beneficial ingredients, as well as banana, jaggery and chickpeas which consist of vital nutrients.

If you're passionate about empowering women and creating a more equitable world, we invite you to join us at Sarvam Shakti. With your support and donation, you can assist us in making a real difference in the lives of these super-talented girls and their immediate communities. Together, we can create a brighter future for women everywhere. To support or get involved with us, click here.
