Guru Purnima: Honoring Gurus, Inspiring Transformations, and Spreading Joy at Sarvam Shakti

Guru Purnima is a significant festival celebrated to honor and express gratitude towards spiritual and academic teachers, known as gurus. It holds deep meaning as it symbolizes reverence for the guru, highlights the importance of knowledge, and strengthens the disciple-guru relationship. This festival takes place on the full moon day in the month of Ashadha, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the sage Vyasa, who is revered as the Adi Guru.

At Sarvam Shakti, the Guru Purnima celebration on July 3rd was a memorable event held at the Gurugram DLF Centre. The evening began with a talk by our CEO, Hemangi Bhatnagar, where she enlightened the attendees about the significance of Guru Purnima and emphasized the value of cherishing our parents, gurus, and the almighty. She also discussed the importance of nutrition and the impact it has on our overall well-being, specifically focusing on the power of sprouted daals.

Following the enlightening session, a prayer was recited, "Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara; Guru Sakshat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shri Guravay Namah." This prayer acknowledges the guru as the embodiment of the divine, representing Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the organizer), and Maheshwara (Shiva, the destroyer). It expresses reverence to the guru, who leads us towards the path of light and is the ultimate embodiment of the supreme godhead.

The highlight of the event was the mesmerizing performances by the Shaktis, showcasing rhythmic yoga and classical dance. They choreographed the performances themselves, and their skills and dedication were truly awe-inspiring. Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, affectionately known as Aai, and the audience couldn't help but be moved by the incredible progress these girls have made in their lives. With the support of the Sarvam Foundation, these girls have achieved remarkable growth and transformation. The emotional impact of the performances left everyone in the room with a sense of wonder and admiration.

Deep within their hearts, these brave young women hold a special place for Aai, as she has nurtured them as her own children. Aai has been their unwavering guru, providing unconditional love, support, and guidance. Mrs. Bhatnagar was overwhelmed by the passage of time and shared her surreal experience, expressing her immense pride and admiration for the Shaktis. She marveled at their resilience, creativity, and confidence, acknowledging the tremendous impact Sarvam Shakti has had on their lives.

After the performances, the Shaktis offered a banana to Mrs. Bhatnagar, touched the feet of Aai, Vijay Bhaiya, and Beena Didi, expressing their gratitude for always being there for them through the highs and lows and guiding them. Later, those bananas were distributed to the underprivileged, symbolizing their caring and compassionate nature even in their own challenging circumstances.

Overall, the Guru Purnima celebration at Sarvam Shakti was a deeply emotional and transformative day for everyone involved. The girls learned valuable lessons, showcased their talents, and exhibited their gratitude through acts of kindness. The event served as a reminder of the incredible potential within each individual and the power of mentorship and guidance in transforming lives.
