Recently, the Sarvam Foundation team pulled off an epic movie day out, bringing 114 of our powerhouse Shaktis straight to PVR Cinemas for an exclusive screening of the thrilling animated feature, Return of the Jungle. What followed was two hours of animated storytelling, genuine laughter, and the kind of collective experience.
This was a deliberate, well-coordinated outing — and it delivered exactly what it was meant to.
The Film and Why It Was the Right Choice
Return of the Jungle, produced by Vaibhav Studios, is one of the strongest examples of Indian homegrown animation to come out in recent years. The story centres on three school friends — Mihir, Rohan, and Ali — who are being targeted by their school's most feared bully, Rahul Malhotra. Unable to match him physically, they turn to their grandfather, Thatha, who responds not with conventional advice but with vivid, high-stakes tales from the jungle — stories of survival, coalition, and outsmarting a stronger opponent through strategy and unity.
The message is direct: when you are outmatched, you do not fold. You build your team, use your head, and hold your ground.

The girls' responses after the screening reflected genuine engagement, not polite enthusiasm. Nidhi, 12: "Interesting, funny and emotional. I learnt from the movie that we should try, we should not give up." And Riya, 12, picked up on something more nuanced: "I like this movie very much because it is about the friends' humility." Clearly having a genuine impact on the kids, the movie follows the narrative anchored by the grandfather through his words that “jungle ho ya sheher, Zindagi ek jaisi hoti hai” (Whether it is the jungle or the city…life is just the same) It challenges us to look beyond our immediate surroundings and realize that the core principles of survival—courage, unity, and resilience—remain unchanged whether you are navigating the wild or the concrete streets of a city.
The Logistics and the People Who Made It Work
An outing of this scale — 114 children, coordinated transportation, a full multiplex screening — does not happen without serious institutional support.
PVR Cinemas provided exactly that. To our colleagues at PVR: the Foundation is genuinely grateful. You did not just offer a venue; you gave 114 girls a world-class cinematic experience, handled with professionalism and warmth throughout.
Preeti Ma'am and Amita Ma'am — your sustained support of this mission is visible in every programme we run. The day would not have come together without your encouragement and practical backing at every step.
Vaibhav Studios deserves recognition on two counts: for producing a film that is genuinely worth watching, and carries a message children can use.
What This Outing Was Actually About
Sarvam Shakti's work is grounded in holistic development. That means academic support, skill building, health programming — and it also means access to cultural experiences that the rest of society takes for granted. A trip to the cinema is not a reward or a break from the real work. It is part of the real work.
