A girl belonging to a lower middle class family, father being a driver and mother working in an hospital gets a chance to live her dream of studying in a good reputed university with the help of Sarvam Foundation. Here’s how her story unfolds.

She joined Sarvam in 2016 and was learning Kathak under Rachana Yadavji, a senior Guru in Gurgaon. Sarvam supported all her expensense as well as sponsored trips to Poland twice as well as Mumbai and Vishakapatnam for her dance showcases!! Her confidence and talents in arts only grew so much so that she has recently through the ECA (extracurricular activity quota) where hundreds of students from across the country demonstrate their sporting and arts skills to secure competitive seats!

Courage: After her 10+2, she decided to give Delhi University a go but in the “extra-curricular activity” quota based on her learning in Sarvam. She was confused yet confident because of the regular performances at Sarvam and outside Sarvam. They become confident in facing the audience without any hesitation and fear. And thereby she realized she could face anything. She has performed at audiences of 2,000 people- these were simply a few examiners she had to perform in front of!!

After her audition in the Delhi University entrance, when she opened her portal she was surprised to see that she got admission in two colleges under Delhi University for the course of BA( English and Computer application). She is the first in her family to secure a prestigious college degree.

She visited the colleges, her family and everyone in the Sarvam fraternity was really happy for her.

“Thank you so much Sarvam Shakti, without your help I could not have imagine to learn such an art form like Kathak because classical dance form is not what me and my family could ever afford”

She completed her junior diploma from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad and also plans to do a senior diploma in kathak and fulfil all her dreams. Sarvam is supporting her through all of this.
