Some people build organisations. Others build futures. Our founder, Nehha Bhatnagar, has spent more than a decade doing both, and we are proud to share that she has been honoured at the District Intercity Sahasini ceremony organised by Inner Wheel, a celebration of women who lead, serve and inspire.

Standing on that stage in a handwoven saree, trophy in hand, Nehha ma'am represented far more than one woman's achievement. She carried with her the stories of every Shakti who has ever walked into our centres.

About Inner Wheel

Inner Wheel is one of the world's most respected women's service organisations. It was founded in Manchester, England by Margarette Golding, with the first official meeting held on 10 January 1924. Today, it counts among the largest voluntary service organisations for women worldwide, with thousands of clubs serving communities around the globe, and India is home to more Inner Wheel members than any other country. The ceremony carried the spirit of this year's themes, "Grow & Flourish" and "Reach & Inspire for a Better World," alongside a message that could have been written for our girls: Bolder. Kinder. Braver. Stronger Together.

The Woman Behind the Mission

Nehha Bhatnagar's journey began with dance. She is a senior disciple of Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, and has performed in over 15 countries and 19 Indian states. She is also an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

But she wanted the joy of the arts to reach girls who had never been given a chance to experience it. Believing that culture has the power to change the world, she founded the Sarvam Foundation in 2012 to empower young girls from challenging backgrounds through dance and yoga. That vision grew into Sarvam Shakti, which offers free professional training in Indian arts, yoga, English and computers to girls from underserved communities

Her work reaches beyond the stage too. She is a licensed therapist, ACC coach, social worker and trauma practitioner who blends Eastern wisdom with modern psychology, and she is a familiar voice on TEDx stages. Over the past 12 years, more than 1,000 girls across three Indian states have been supported through her work.

Why This Honour Matters to Us:

At Sarvam Shakti, we teach our girls that they deserve to be seen. Watching Nehha ma'am receive this recognition was a living lesson in exactly that.

Every Shakti who has learned a new mudra, held a yoga pose with quiet strength, spoken English with growing confidence or performed on a stage she never imagined she'd reach carries a piece of this award. Nehha ma'am didn't just create a programme. She created a place where girls learn that their dreams are valid and their voices matter.

Congratulations, Nehha Ma'am! and thank you for believing in every Shakti before she believed in herself 🌸
