Shaktis at The Leela Hotel Gurgaon, Classical dance & Yoga Showcase at Inner Wheel Club function

Updated: Nov 4, 2023

Helen Keller once said, "Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much."

This sentiment resonates deeply within the Sarvam Shakti family, as we believe in nurturing the collective spirit, fostering resilience, and creating a better future.

We stand united, we stand strong. Shaktis from Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj centres came together on the stage of the prestigious Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurugram, on June 17th and 18th, 2023 to present their energy, emotions, and expressions through vibrant and artistic stage show, centred around the theme of Education for All. The girls of the Sarvam Foundation were invited by the ladies of The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India, to add stars to their event, by performing for their AVIVA (Action to Vision) event, at the Installation Ceremony of Mrs. Preeti Gugnani.

Shaktis had diligently rehearsed to ensure that their actual performances be nothing short of perfect. Amidst the spotlight, a lot of efforts and preparations weaved behind the scenes. Right from the thrill during rehearsals to jitters at the thought of performing in front of a huge mass of audience, Sarvam girls experienced all sets of feelings. Once again, the Shaktis were prepared to set the stage ablaze. The audience this time was even larger, with an estimated attendance of 800-900 people.

The event was a two-day affair where the girls showcased their classical dance and yoga skills fearlessly in front of a large audience, on different songs such as "Bhumi Mangalam," "Paani," and "Deep Shiksha." The girls were draped beautifully in their Kathak and Bharatnatyam costumes, adorned with glittering pieces of jewellery, and their classical makeup was expertly done by the girls themselves. Their attire added an extra touch of splendour to the stage. The spectators were spellbound by the graceful movements and the flawless expressions of these young girls. We are heartily thankful to the event organizers and IWC members for making this event happen and providing our girls with the much-required platform. So many guests from across India witnessed the fact that adversities cannot stop real talent from blooming.

Mrs. Preeti Gunani, the president of the Inner Wheel Club, called upon Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, the chief empowerment officer, to express her admiration for the Shaktis' exceptional display of talent. Overflowing with joy, Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, affectionately known as "Aai" to the Shaktis, felt overwhelmed by the girls' remarkable achievements.

Shaktis enjoying delicacies

After their breathtaking performances, the Shaktis indulged in a delicious feast, relishing a well-deserved treat. At Sarvam, Shaktis have always been taught the importance of opting for wholesome food choices instead of highly processed and refined options. They are also habituated to carrying reusable steel water bottles, avoiding the use of disposable plastic bottles. But, on this special occasion, Shaktis broke their regular regime to enjoy their ‘cheat day’.

During these two days, their Sarvam shakti family accompanied them, including Vijay bhaiya, Beena Didi, Kritika, Nikita, and of course, their beloved aai, to provide unwavering support, empowering them to overcome stage fright and deliver exceptional performances. Overall, the event was a moment of pride for all of us. It was a perfect demonstration of true empowerment. Such events extend far beyond the realm of performances; they become transformative milestones that shape the identity of each shakti, empowering them to rise above challenges and embrace their unique potential.
