Writer: sarvamshaktisarvamshakti

At Sarvam Shakti, we are committed to nurturing the holistic well-being of our shaktis through various initiatives. One of which is the Millet Project, launched on April 5th, 2024. This project aims to introduce nutritious food into the daily meals of the shaktis, ensuring they receive the essential nutrients needed for their growth and development.

Nourishing with Millets and Pulses:

The Millet Project focuses on integrating a variety of millets and pulses into the Shaktis' diet. Millets are not only a rich source of protein, fiber, and vitamins but also environmentally friendly due to their resilience and low water requirements. Some of the millets included in the project are: Little Millet, Kodu Millet, Finger Millet, Sorghum, Proso Millet.

In addition to millets, we have added a range of pulses such as Rajma, Chana, Black Gram, and Sprouted Dals. These pulses complement the millets, providing a balanced diet that supports overall health and well-being. Our daily meal plans are designed to keep our Shaktis energized and healthy throughout their day.

Morning begin with nourishing breakfast of rice, which is an excellent source of carbohydrates and provides the energy needed for their morning activities, alongside jowar roti, curd, Cheela. For lunch vegetables millet, protein rich quinoa, Rajma, etc. For dinner they are served Jawar roti, made from sorghum, packed with essential nutrients. This is just a glimpse of the well-balanced meals offered through our program.

Impactful Results:

The Millet Project's meal plans and their nutritional benefits have been tested and validated by Ishi Ghosla of Dangs Lab, ensuring that the food provided meets the highest standards of health and nutrition.

We are also grateful for the collaboration with the Celiac Society, which has been instrumental in the success of the Millet Project. We are particularly grateful to Ishi Khosla, who has been a guiding light since the inception of Sarvam Shakti. Her expertise and support have been invaluable in shaping our initiatives and ensuring their impact.

The Millet Project has had a positive impact on our shaktis. By consuming these nutrient-rich meals, the girls have shown improvements in various aspects of their well-being:

  • Physical Health: Increased energy levels, stronger immune function, and overall health improvements.

  • Cognitive Development: Enhanced concentration and better performance in academic activities due to adequate nutrition.

  • Emotional Well-being: A boost in happiness and satisfaction from delecious tasty and healthy meals.

The Millet Project is a testament to the power of small changes. We've witness our Shaktis flourish as they embrace a healthier, happier lifestyle!
