    On the 5th of June 2023, a magical event unfolded at Hyatt that celebrated the true essence of wellness. Our incredible Shaktis from Gurugram and Vasant Kunj took the stage, delivering powerful performances that transcended the boundaries of physical health and delved into the realms of psychological and spiritual well-being. At Sarvam Shakti, we believe in nurturing the holistic wellness of each and every Shakti, ensuring that they blossom into their fullest potential. With grace andtalent, the girls showcased their prowess in classical dance and yoga, leaving the audience in awe of their growth and dedication. Their fluency in English added an extra charm to the performances, as they beautifully expressed the importance of physical, psychological, and spiritual wellness. One particular performance, set to the tune of the famous song "Luka Chhupi," touched upon the significance of social relationships and how they contribute to our overall well-being. The thunderous applause from the audience echoed their appreciation, and even the head chef personally commended the efforts made by our Shaktis. Following the performances, an enlightening engagement took place between our Chief Empowerment Officer, Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, and the Shaktis. She imparted invaluable wisdom about personal hygiene, shared tips on washroom etiquettes, and highlighted the importance of maintaining hygiene during the menstrual cycle.     The Crest Club, located in Gurugram, recently organized an awe-inspiring event that not only showcased the immense talent of their Shaktis, but also shed light on the critical issues surrounding environmental conservation. Held against the backdrop of a mesmerizing sunset on June 3rd, 2023, the event left the audience awestruck and moved. The Shaktis took center stage in their garden area, delivering powerful performances that seamlessly blended Indian classical dance and yoga, captivating the hearts of everyone in attendance. With the aim of raising awareness about pressing environmental concerns, each performance was meticulously crafted to highlight different aspects of conservation, from water scarcity conveyed through the heartfelt song 'Paani,' to the urgent message of halting deforestation in the enthralling 'Ped Kaato Na Kaato.' Additionally, the Shaktis showcased their eloquence by delivering fluent English speeches before each act, adding an extra layer of impact to their performances.   • 100 kilograms of donations of beautiful clothing from Bangkok!

    We have started a store of amazing Indian outfits for our Shaktis to rent for FREE thanks to the generosity of an amazing Indian aunty who is settled in Thailand for some decades now. APPLE aunty through the Indo-Thai women in their Red Cross volunteering team sent this message to us- We are Thai-Indian (origin) Red Cross Volunteers under Thai Red Cross Society since year 2000. It’s been a successful, fruitful, warm journey. We contribute monthly funds for betterment of children. We have worked at Ophanage, Old People’s home, distributed gifts to underprivileged children in many far away villages. Contributed for multi purpose buildings in small schools at Thai border. It’s all a team effort and available funds which have made it possible for us to help others. Captain Ravinder PS Ghai who has supported me throughout. He lifts me up when world’s sorrow seems too heavy to bear and makes us look at how our work has helped and we need to continue. We use to collect party clothes to sell in annual Red Cross Fair at very cheap prices. The funds was used for charity in hospital. We always thought the cloths could be put to better use for underprivileged people in India. You helped us reached those who can make maximum use of clothes. Thank you." So much trouble but it is SO worth it because our Shaktis would NEVER be able to afford such fine clothing and to be able to wear an outfit for even one occassion gives a confidence boost to them. We always teach girls that clothes DO NOT make the man since it is one's character that does. However, as any of us would know, to be able to attend an event wearing something beautiful does make us feel good within. Sarvam Shaktis have attended various dance recitals as audiences in auditoriums to hone their skills in viewing and appreciating arts. They come to the centre and borrow the clothing for that evening and two of the Shaktis manage the store with signing in and signing out whoever takes whatever outfit!   • A top school in Delhi invited Shaktis to inspire their school children!

    How amazing is it when a marginalized girls skills project becomes an example for children from wealthy families in big schools to learn from! We are SO grateful to the amazing school The Heritage School Vasant Kunj for inviting us as performers at their Founders Day 2023 celebrations. Sarvam Shaktis were inspired to speak and share the following amazing tips and life skills they learn at Shakti- A) How posture makes the body healthy and why is it necessary for students B) Sitting cross legged has innumerable health benefits and prevents aging of the knees C) Learning extra-curricular activities like dance and Yoga are KEY to wellbeing and emotional intelligence. Any skill is important if taken up seriously and MUST be incorporated instead of spending time on devices such as TV and iPads. D) Healthy eating and maintaining a fit body are again key indicators of wellbeing and the Shaktis shared their diets and how they DO NOT eat white sugar, consume dairy on a regular basis and also eat refined flours. E) Why pranayama and meditation are important especially from a students point of view. The Principals, teachers and students were SO blown away. Being an Odissi dancer and Indian Dance teacher it gives me immense pleasure to watch Sarvam Girls perform on stage as I can feel that these young girls are working hard to preserve our Indian Culture with so much passion and dedication. They are the one of best example for the people who talks about "women empowerment" It's been almost 4-5 years I have been watching these girls growing up not only as a good dancers also I have seen the development of their overall personality. 4 years back when I got associated with Sarvam Shakti for a dance project through The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj there were only few number of students. But today, I am so glad to see around 60/65 Sarvam Shakti girls. I wish them all the best for the future and May they keep inspiring each one of us, specially our young generation.   • Our Shaktis painted the town red on Republic Day

    On the auspicious day of the Republic Day, 26th January, 2023, our Shaktis were very busy running around the city of Gurgaon. We were so fortunate to get invited to perform at many different places. All the Shaktis were divided into three different groups and performed at various societies like The Park Place, Exotica, The Crest, Bel Air and La- Lagoon. We are so grateful to our core team volunteers, Leads for the projects Shakti Sewa, Shakti Speak, Shakti Sanjeevani and Shakti Shiksha- Tripti, Ritu, Chetna and Alka for helping organize our showcases in their upscale localities in Gurgaon where thousands of appreciative audiences watched our showcases! Rhythmic Yoga on the patriotic song Ae Watan from Raazi They also performed at a Government School at H Block and at the Community Park of H-Block. They performed Yoga, Vande Mataram, Sarvam Poem, Puspanjali, Gurubrahma and Pink amidst the chilly weather of winter. Many of the residents of the societies appreciated the work of the Sarvam Foundation and dedication of the Shaktis. They showed their appreciation by distributing sweets and snacks. Vande Mataram- dance, Yoga, martial arts, contemporary At the event in various locations, we introduced Sarvam Foundation and told them about the values that we inculcate at the organisation like self worth, compassion, kindness and confidence.     Our guiding light, our unending inspiration and a mother to us all- our Chief Empowerment Officer, Hemangi Bhatnagar gives us SO much love. We prepared a skit on her kindness towards us and also gave her SO many hugs and letters of our love. Thank you Maam so much for making us stand on our feet, believe in ourselves and have this amazing identity as accomplished women!

They are trained to eat healthy on limited budgets and also NEVER consume refined foods and to limit dairy as a treat very occassionally. The idea is to ELIMINATE inflammatory foods while also adding more nourishing vegetables to the diet. The Shakti Sanjeevani project is a milestone in health as vegetable juice made of 15 vegetables and fruits is given to the girls daily along with black chana dal and banana. To promote our thought process and raise some money too, we held a food stall with Gluten Free Ragi Bhel, brainchild of our Digital Lead Shakti Alka Sondhi at an upscale Gurgaon event recently! Alka Sondhi with our CEO Hemangi and the Shaktis Neelam, Gudiya, Khushboo and Soni who managed the stall! To invite us to such local colony stall events, do email us on culture@sarvamfoundation.org! It helps raise awareness on our work whilst also promoting good healthy information to citizens.

  • Karnataka's small but effective chapter of Sarvam Shakti!

    Nehha Bhatnagar visiting the Bengaluru studio of Sarvam in 2023 One of the senior Shaktis leading the session under the able guidance of their teacher, artiste Kruthi! Kruthi works as a corporate employee in an MNC, is a dancer and also a volunteer teacher at Shakti. We are so grateful for her heart! Nehha's sister-in-law Dr Shylaja Rudraiah, a medical doctor generously donates her time in speaking to the girls and their families on health and wellbeing. Nehha's in-laws have so generously donated their home's third floor as a full fledged studio with a wooden dance floor and mirrors and lots of breeze!
