  • Durga Puja 2022 & Shaktis!

"I fall short of words to appreciate Mrs Bhatnagar’s family to have brought about not only this phenomenal change in the lives of 300 otherwise non-privileged girls, but also the change in attitude in a not-too-bothered society in which we live. Mrs. Bhatnagar has very appropriately named them Shakti’s and is acting every moment towards realisation of the term in its true sense. Going by a good lead, Sarvam Shakti was given a platform to show us a glimpse of their infinite energy by way of performances - first at our Durga Puja Celebration venue and later at an open air stage in our society lawns on Dhanteras evening. Incredibly good, powerful, classy and spell binding as both the performances were, so was the response and reaction from the spectators for the performers as well as for the prime mover - Himangi ji. For all of us, it has been a big takeaway as to how a single minded devotion and effort can bring out such big transformations!! I wish Sarvam Shakti all the best towards its much deserved prosperity. • A message from our Chief Empowerment Officer!

The love respect and adulation I get from the Shaktis daily at our centres has made my life absolutely worth living. I get up each day with a huge smile on my face and with an eagerness to be of some use to society through our work at Shakti. In my 60s could I ask for a better gift than to see my little girls thrive, find their zest and zeal for living, thriving and being recognized for their talents? I go away for a family trip or a marriage ceremony and in two days I try and return as being away from these children seems hard! I just enjoy being surrounded by hundreds of eager blossoming young girls who have dreams in their eyes for a more empowered tommorrow! I AM SO GRATEFUL to all of you reading this for supporting our work in whichever way- your special way actually. WITHOUT YOU, WE CANNOT DO THIS! SO, thank you for BEING A SHAKTI FOR SHAKTI. We look forward to a 2023 of more resources for these 300 Shaktis at our 3 Centres so that we can fulfill any lacunae in their life. For example, if we feel a girl is getting anaemic, we would need iron supplements and an extra boost of beetroot supplies for her. QUALITY IS EVERYTHING at Shakti and we wish to continue to focus on that aspect while growing our verticals stronger. We have the Digital Literacy starting off now under the able leadership of Alka Sondhi as well as a new Outreach vertical under Tripti and also Nutrition under Chetana. Ritu Gulati will be powering up the English classes more and I have no doubt with such an able team and our dance/yoga verticals already thriving, we will be truly unleashing Shakti.

  • Joy of self-choreography on Bollywood songs!

To keep the emotive skills up as it forms an integral part of Classical Dance, it is important to continously practice, choreograph and also learn nuances of all sorts of emotions! What sets our Shaktis apart is their self-will to want to choreograph and ask the Founder, Nehha, herself a professional in Abhinaya (emotions) for corrections and feedback. To keep it lighter and more exciting as Abhinaya can be particularly difficult to master, we also encourage Shaktis to choose beautiful Hindi music from films as connecting to lyrics and feeling them is an integral part of being a fantastic authentic artist! THE INSPIRATION- Watch a video by Nehha to see how beautiful and nuanced Abhinaya can be and to see what a wonderful mentor the Shaktis have! WATCH THE SHAKTIS abhinaya videos from LOCKDOWN-
