- Unstoppable, Spirited, Sarvam Shakti Girls at The Sun City School, Gurgaon
In the heart of Delhi-NCR, on September 29, 2023, the esteemed Sun City School opened its doors to welcome the Shaktis, a group of empowered girls from the Sarvam Foundation, a dedicated NGO committed to their holistic development. Situated in Sector 54 of Gurgaon, the Sun City School became the canvas for a unique performance that left an enduring impact on all who were present. For the Shaktis, this event marked a significant milestone in their journey of self-improvement through Sarvam's various programs. The day began early as the Shaktis boarded a bus provided by Sun City School. The unexpected challenge of accommodating 52 Shakti performers was met with remarkable support, as the school arranged a larger bus with around 60 seats for their return journey. Despite the initial setback and a slight delay, the Shaktis radiated unstoppable potential throughout the journey. Sun City School's gracious invitation demonstrated their commitment to uplifting marginalized girls. Esteemed Chief Guests, Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar and Mrs. Nanda Karmalkar, joined the Shakti girls for a traditional 'lighting of the lamp' ceremony, symbolizing the bright future these Shaktis are forging for themselves. Two inspiring speeches, one by Ms. Khushi, a senior Shakti, and the other by Ms. Mansi, a junior Shakti, set the stage for the Sarvam performances. These speeches displayed the linguistic strides made through Sarvam's English Teaching Program and the newfound confidence to express themselves on a public platform. The performances that followed were nothing short of spectacular, featuring classical dance and yoga. The Shakti girls displayed sharp dance moves, intricate expressions, and resolute confidence, demonstrating the progress achieved through dedicated training. It was an inter-school competition, organized by the school. On the beautiful theme of "Uketamo", the Sarvam girls danced and did yoga asanas with the same energy as always. Following the program, a moment of relaxation awaited the Shaktis, providing an opportunity to learn about the importance of nutrition and its role in their holistic development. The day concluded with the Shaktis returning to the Sarvam Center, tired yet elated, having left an indelible mark on The Sun City School faculty. The holistic approach, including spoken English improvement, computer classes, classical dance, and rigorous Hatha Yoga training, along with nutritious meals, equips the Shaktis to grow into strong, confident, and expressive individuals. The Shakti team represents hope and transformation. Their journey from uncertainty to confidence and skill is a testament to their dedication and the support they receive from the Sarvam Foundation. It's an ongoing journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and growth, inspiring all who witness their remarkable performances. The Sarvam team that accompanied Shaktis, included Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar (Chief Empowerment Officer), Mrs. Nanda Karmalkar (sister of Mrs. Hemangi), Mr. Vijay Kumar (Office Operations Coordinator), Mr. Vivek Singh Rana (Videographer & Video-editor). Shaktis just loved to perform and unleash their potential in front of a large audience at the school. - Devotional Dancing & Hatha Yoga, Sarvam Girls on stage during Navratri
DURGA PUJA, A SYMBOL OF POWER AND DEVOTION It is said that, “When you believe in the power of Maa Durga, you can overcome any obstacle in your path”. Tracing its origin in the 16th century from West Bengal, Durga Puja is a celebration of divine feminine energy, the triumph of good over evil. The tradition of celebrating the victory of Maa Durga (Adi Shakti), who was created by the combined energies and powers of various Gods, including Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and others to defeat the demonic Mahisashura, was started by the Zamindars (landlords) in West Bengal. Evolving over centuries, Durga Puja which is also widely regarded as Navaratri in North India, where the different manifestations of Goddess Durga is worshipped, is celebrated every year for ten days. The tenth day culminates with Vijaydashami, marking the victory of good over evil who cause havoc and tyranny. This festival also marks the homecoming of the Goddess, as it is believed that she visits her parents’ home during this time. The festival typically takes place in the month of Ashwin (September-October) in the Hindu calendar. SHAKTIS CELEBRATION OF THE DIVINE FEMININE ENERGY THROUGH NRITYA NAVARATRI, ARTISTRY AMIDST FESTIVAL With Maa Durga's blessings, more than 80 shaktis showcased their artistic abilities at several locations in Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj on the auspicious festival of Durga Puja this year. On October 20th, at Trinity Complex Club Drive, DLF Phase-5, Gurgaon, Haryana, 40 sarvam girls from gurgaon location, dressed in beautiful dance costumes, and yoga uniforms, exhibited their group performances on the stage, for the evening show, to honour the divine feminine energy. It was the day of Maha Ashtami, also called as "Kanya Puja" when women are worshipped because it is believed that they are the incarnations of Adi Shakti, who bring joy and love into people's lives. The Sarvam staff team, including Mr.Vivek Singh Rana, the videographer, photographer and video editor, Ms.Kritika Saraf, our Shakti Project Manager accompanied by Mrs.Nanda Karmalkar (Mrs.Hemangi Bhatnagar’s sister), and Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar reached the venue to support shaktis and uplift their motivation to perform. Vijay Bhaiya & Rajesh Bhaiya, played an instrumental role in ensuring that the shaktis reached their destination safely. 43 Gurgaon Sarvam Girls also travelled to Purbapalli Durgabari Samiti in Sector 15 of Gurgaon, on October 23rd, where every year a whole Bengali community comes together to plan and celebrate Maa Durga with unprecedented splendor. At around 12:00 p.m in the afternoon, the shaktis entered the beautifully decorated pandal along with Maa Durga’s idol, and were greeted with a hospitable embrace by the entire community. Very gracefully our shaktis portrayed their talents through nine consecutive promising performances including poems, dance, yoga and even delivered their speeches fluently in English. The members of the community were extremely happy with the commendable performances of the girls. The audience just couldn’t stop applauding after witnessing their coordination, their expressions, intricate dance moves, and Yoga poses. One of them even said, that our shaktis are “thoroughly trained dancers coming from a very humble background favouring the art in an amazing manner”, some even said that they would “ love to witness such beautiful performances every year”, according to one of them “this was the most moving programs of this year’s Durga Puja. Such heartwarming compliments are a matter of pride for all of us and makes all the dedication and hardwork worth it. It motivates the entire team to look forward to more performances like this. We learned that many of our Shaktis attend DPS Shiksha Kendra in Gurgaon, a school for impoverished children that offers free education and is managed by community members, after speaking with one of the members of the durgabari community. Following their excellent performances, the community wanted to make sure that they, too, were supporting our shaktis reach their dreams of touching the sky, so they generously donated a respectable amount on their behalf to the organisation. 20-30 sarvam girls from Vasant Kunj also performed at different venues, with little support. Their mothers were taken away, were quite emotional and proud to see their little kids, winning hearts, by unleashing their hidden energy on stages of prime locations. THE SACRED BHOG PRASAD AND SOME EXCITING GOODIES Following their performances, the girls were given "khichdi", which is a particular navami dish, and "mishti doi", a traditional Bengali dessert. The delectable bhog prasad held a peculiar essence unlike any other edible item. The girls had a lovely introduction to traditional Bengali culture. The dishes, utensils, glasses, and other items they used to serve the bhog were all sustainable and environment friendly. The shaktis also received small gifts (steel lunch boxes) as a token of appreciation and their faces lightened up with joy as their happiness was reflected in their faces. They had never, even in their dreams had expected to be treated with such warmth and politeness as they do not belong from a very welcoming section of the society. The shaktis too were really cheerful with the amount of love they had recieved that day. FROM VISION TO REALITY : A MOMENT OF PRIDE FOR SARVAM FOUNDATION Sarvam Foundation has truly been grateful to be able to provide these girls with a platform which is able to bridge the gap between their unfulfilled dreams and desires and their unfavorable financial circumstances. The shaktis today are at a place where they never imagined themselves before. The cultural events in which they perform benefits them in numerous ways from providing them with a great exposure to the outside world, to mastering their skills in different arenas to learning about the diverse cultures of India in a way which is still unknown to a lot of people at large, as they are getting to experience the uniqueness of every single culture. Their parents are filled with immense pride and tears of joy when they witness their child climbing the stairs of success in a way which they cannot afford because of their financial situations. Everything that they are able to learn here is bringing them one step closer to their success while at the same time it is spiritually uplifting them as a human.Their fluency in English has been phenomenal. It is a moment of pride for the organisation as they are able to move a step forward towards their vision with each passing day because of the significant changes taking place within the shaktis. All of this would not have been possible without the consistent cooperation, determination and resilience of the shaktis. Their strong will power inspires the entire foundation to strive towards betterment. Being able to transform their lives has been nothing but a milestone. Being able to change the life of one shakti, acts as an inspiration for the entire community. It motivates the hundreds and thousands of parents who are unwilling to let their daughter learn and grow as they are afraid that they cannot afford it and the world in return will exploit them further, But, when a girl, a shakti, visibly grows everyday, it inspires all those unwilling parents that if one girl can do it, then all the girls can do it, all they need is a proper direction, a trustworthy guidance who would guide them to the right path, helping them to get out the tunnel of darkness filled with nothing but violence and abuse that they have witnessed throughout their life and bring light in their life. The shaktis are like the seeds of a plant being watered and nourished every day with so much love and care that they will definitely bloom into beautiful flowers one day. - Shaktis at The Leela Hotel Gurgaon, Classical dance & Yoga Showcase at Inner Wheel Club function
Helen Keller once said, "Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much." This sentiment resonates deeply within the Sarvam Shakti family, as we believe in nurturing the collective spirit, fostering resilience, and creating a better future. We stand united, we stand strong. Shaktis from Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj centres came together on the stage of the prestigious Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurugram, on June 17th and 18th, 2023 to present their energy, emotions, and expressions through vibrant and artistic stage show, centred around the theme of Education for All. The girls of the Sarvam Foundation were invited by the ladies of The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India, to add stars to their event, by performing for their AVIVA (Action to Vision) event, at the Installation Ceremony of Mrs. Preeti Gugnani. Shaktis had diligently rehearsed to ensure that their actual performances be nothing short of perfect. Amidst the spotlight, a lot of efforts and preparations weaved behind the scenes. Right from the thrill during rehearsals to jitters at the thought of performing in front of a huge mass of audience, Sarvam girls experienced all sets of feelings. Once again, the Shaktis were prepared to set the stage ablaze. The audience this time was even larger, with an estimated attendance of 800-900 people. The event was a two-day affair where the girls showcased their classical dance and yoga skills fearlessly in front of a large audience, on different songs such as "Bhumi Mangalam," "Paani," and "Deep Shiksha." The girls were draped beautifully in their Kathak and Bharatnatyam costumes, adorned with glittering pieces of jewellery, and their classical makeup was expertly done by the girls themselves. Their attire added an extra touch of splendour to the stage. The spectators were spellbound by the graceful movements and the flawless expressions of these young girls. We are heartily thankful to the event organizers and IWC members for making this event happen and providing our girls with the much-required platform. So many guests from across India witnessed the fact that adversities cannot stop real talent from blooming. Mrs. Preeti Gunani, the president of the Inner Wheel Club, called upon Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, the chief empowerment officer, to express her admiration for the Shaktis' exceptional display of talent. Overflowing with joy, Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, affectionately known as "Aai" to the Shaktis, felt overwhelmed by the girls' remarkable achievements. After their breathtaking performances, the Shaktis indulged in a delicious feast, relishing a well-deserved treat. At Sarvam, Shaktis have always been taught the importance of opting for wholesome food choices instead of highly processed and refined options. They are also habituated to carrying reusable steel water bottles, avoiding the use of disposable plastic bottles. But, on this special occasion, Shaktis broke their regular regime to enjoy their ‘cheat day’. During these two days, their Sarvam shakti family accompanied them, including Vijay bhaiya, Beena Didi, Kritika, Nikita, and of course, their beloved aai, to provide unwavering support, empowering them to overcome stage fright and deliver exceptional performances. Overall, the event was a moment of pride for all of us. It was a perfect demonstration of true empowerment. Such events extend far beyond the realm of performances; they become transformative milestones that shape the identity of each shakti, empowering them to rise above challenges and embrace their unique potential.
- Three Vasant Kunj Senior Shaktis - Teaching self-choreographed dance to students of Nayi Disha NGO
As we draw near to the 15th of August, a powerful wave of patriotism sweeps through the atmosphere. Priyanka, Shweta, and Anjali, gifted in the art of Indian classical dance through their training at Sarvam Foundation, have graced more than a hundred stages both nationally and internationally. The path they have walked is not just about dance; it's a journey of passion and cultural connection. Shweta, a member of this trio, received a heartfelt request from Nayi Disha NGO. This organization was seeking three dance instructors to guide their junior and senior students in crafting dance performances for the momentous occasion of August 15th. Without hesitation, these three young women embraced the chance to illuminate the students of Nayi Disha about the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture through the medium of dance. Their internship journey began on the 7th of June. In the initial stages, the students appeared disinterested. However, with the gentle nudges of Anjali, Shweta, and Priyanka, a fresh spark of enthusiasm ignited within them. Gradually, excitement spread like wildfire, and the students eagerly embarked on a journey to refine their dance skills, eager to unveil their talents on this special day. Shaktis, the trio of mentors, enriched the students' understanding of India's diverse dance forms, acknowledging that "learning never exhausts the mind" (Leonardo da Vinci). It wasn't just about dance moves; it was about embracing heritage and wisdom. The younger students grasped the dance steps and choreography, but patience wasn't their strong suit. In these moments, Priyanka stood as a beacon of motivation, reminding them that the journey itself is just as rewarding as the destination. Her encouraging words breathed life into their perseverance, leading them to embrace the challenge and extend a spirited challenge to their senior counterparts. Soon, the atmosphere buzzed with determination and unity. Both juniors and seniors honed their skills and mastered dance forms, setting the stage for the 15th of August. Shweta teaching students of Nai Disha NGO Interestingly, the threads of fate wove Shweta, Anjali, and Priyanka into the fabric of Nayi Disha NGO during their own youth. Little did they know that their paths would circle back to this very place, equipped with the knowledge and dedication they had cultivated through their journey at Sarvam Foundation. Their story echoes the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "You must be the change you want to see in the world." Their triumphant return not only celebrates their individual achievements but stands as a collective victory, reminding us all that with guidance and determination, we can ascend the peaks of accomplishment. As we reflect on this remarkable narrative, we're reminded that success doesn't simply land in our laps; it's a tapestry woven with threads of hard work, resilience, and guidance. Priyanka, Shweta, and Anjali have shown us that with the right direction, dedication, and unwavering effort, we can reach extraordinary heights. Their story encourages us to embrace our own potential and reminds us that the seeds we plant today can blossom into beautiful tomorrows.
- Skill Development of Shaktis, Block Printing Workshop at Sarvam Foundation
Printmaking is an ancient art technique. It began as a way to make things to sell but later became a fine art form. One cool type of printmaking is called Linocut Printing. It's like making a stamp. First, you carve a piece of linoleum with sharp tools to make a design. Then, you put ink on the carved block using a rubber roller and press it onto paper or fabric to make a print. At Sarvam Shakti, Ms. Nikita Gupta organized a Linocut workshop for 20 senior Shaktis. This workshop was divided into three parts over three days. In the first workshop on August 21, 2023, the Shaktis learned what printmaking is and got kits with everything they needed. Ms. Nikita talked about materials and methods. She asked them to draw something important to them on the linoleum. The Shaktis created beautiful drawings. Next, they learned how to carve the linoleum into different designs and textures. In the second workshop on August 29, 2023, the Shaktis carefully carved their linoleum sheets. After carving, they learned to make artist-proof prints on paper. This helps artists spot any mistakes in their carving. While printing, they learned to work gently and carefully to get clean prints. Detailed carving needs patience. Some Shaktis got a bit impatient, but with some encouragement, they finished their carvings and felt very happy with their work. In the final workshop on September 10, 2023, the Shaktis brought their finished carved sheets. This time, they printed their designs on cotton tote bags, which needed more pressure. They worked in groups and helped each other. Special thanks to Neelam and Simran for helping with cleaning and organizing. The Shaktis took their wonderful creations home with them. Ms. Nikita Gupta said, "It was a fantastic experience teaching these kids. I saw hidden talents in them. My goal was to introduce printmaking to underprivileged kids. They learned fine arts, patience, and cleanliness while printing. I felt so proud of them. Thank you, Sarvam Shakti, for giving me this opportunity." The resounding applause from the audience further bolstered their self-assurance. Their speeches in flawless English were a testament to their determination, as they confidently showcased their impressive public speaking skills. - Teachers Day Celebration at Rotary District Literacy Seminar 2023
"गुरू ब्रह्मा, गुरू विष्णु, गुरु देवो महेश्वरा, गुरु साक्षात परब्रह्म, तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः।" In our Indian culture, gurus or teachers are always entities that are respected and worshipped. Teachers are placed even above Gods. Everyone needs a teacher who can guide them and show them what's right and wrong. To express our gratitude and love for our teachers, we celebrate Teacher’s Day on 5th September every year. In 2023, we celebrated Teacher’s Day at an event named “Sakshar.” Sarvam Shakti students participated in a District Literacy Seminar this year, organized by Rotary India Literacy Mission and called "Sakshar." The event took place at PhD House, August Kranti Marg, Hauz Khas, New Delhi. For those unfamiliar with Rotary India Literacy Mission, it is an organization dedicated to providing quality education in India and promoting total literacy. Two teams of 20 Shaktis were present to perform and show their respect for their teachers. The teams were "Teacher Aapke Bina," led by Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, and "Shiksha," led by Mr. Vijay. Both teams had 10 Shaktis, each brimming with energy for their stage performance. The "Teacher Aapke Bina" team presented a skit in which our Shakti, Khushi, recited a shloka while the other Shaktis performed an act on stage. Their orange and red dress code made their performance stand out. Another member of the team educated the audience about the word "guru" - its meaning, significance, and origin, delving into the Sanskrit roots to simplify it for the audience. She explained that the word "guru" is composed of "gu," meaning darkness, and "ru," meaning remover. A guru is the person in our life who dispels darkness and guides us towards the light. Another Shakti took the stage to enlighten the audience about the roles of teachers in our mythological history, citing examples of Shri Krishna and Arjun. She illustrated how Shri Krishna imparted the truths of life to Arjun, emphasizing the pivotal role of Shri Krishna in motivating Arjun to participate in the Mahabharata battle, a crucial event in establishing peace. These speeches were eloquently delivered by our Shaktis. The team "Shiksha" was the dance team, performing to the song "Deep Shiksha." Their performance revolved around the fundamental right to education that every child deserves, contrasting the darkness of illiteracy with the light of education through their black-and-white dress code. This event provided our Shaktis with an opportunity to express gratitude to their teachers and mentors. The role of teachers in this world is more significant than we can imagine. They shape us and our future. You may have heard the saying that if God and a teacher were standing in front of me, I would touch the feet of the teacher to thank them for teaching me about God. So, we concluded our day by celebrating and expressing our gratitude to these unsung heroes known as teachers.
- Health checkups, prayers, and healthy food.
Yet another day, full of fun, togetherness, celebration, prayers, and healthy refreshments Not one, but a team of six doctors, paid a visit to our Sarvam centre in Gurgaon, to conduct the health check-ups for the Sarvam girls. The energy of the place was doubled with the echoing mantras and prayers during the SunderKand Paath. All the Inner Wheel Club ladies, along with our Chief Empowerment Officer, Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, office staff members, offered prayers for the well-being and safety of Shaktis. At around 3 p.m. in the noon, on 1st August 2023 at Sarvam Shakti's Gurgaon centre, all of us, celebrated the evening of love and health. The celebration went until 6 p.m. in the evening creating a serene atmosphere, diffused with empowering vibrations. Mahatma Gandhi once said "It is health that is real health and not the pieces of gold and silver." And, we proudly advocate the fact that our splendid Shaktis proved their good health, when the doctors conducted health checkups. Doctors were astonished to find the results so positive for most of the girls. It is commonly said, "You are what you eat". After the check-up, doctors were amazed to see how fit the girls were. This is all thanks to one of Sarvam Foundation's major projects - Shakti SANJEEVANI. Under this project, girls are served Shakti Elixir Juice, which consists of more than 15 ingredients (fruits and vegetables). This juice contains ANTIOXIDANTS, PHYTONUTRIENTS, and MINERALS. Along with that, they are given a banana, jaggery, and Black Chana. Black Chana is an excellent source of protein and iron, and dark jaggery has cleansing medicinal properties. All of these things help them build a strong immune system. Initially, the Shaktis were afraid of the health checkup. However, they later felt really pleased to discover that their health was in good condition, it motivated them to continue drinking juice everyday without any fail and also have a banana, black chana and jaggery. After doing Health check-up the food was served. However, the highlight of the event was undoubtedly the healthy food which was prepared under the guidance of the Chief Empowerment Officer, Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, and with the assistance of Cook Beena Didi. One of the doctors came up to us, and asked for the recipes of Ragi Idli, which was our most demanded delicacy of the evening. Yes! Ragi Idlis. Super healthy, yet mouth-watering. The idlis were served with oil free sambhar and 2 colorful chutneys, full of spicy flavours. The doctor admitted that the idli tasted just like the traditional Suji idli, a proof to the skillful cooking and innovative use of ingredients. The second thing on the menu was gluten-free Dahi Bhalle, which managed to capture the traditional taste while being inclusive to dietary restrictions. And how can we miss the khatta meetha salad- a perfect fusion of fruits and vegetables, including red cabbage, rocket leaves, and bell peppers. At Sarvam Foundation, we ensure that the healthiness of both our consumed and served food remains our top concern, even during events. Let's embrace the practice of offering delicious and nutritious food choices rather than those high in sugars, gluten, and deep-fried elements. Remember, healthy options can be just as tasty.
- The Shakti’s ‘HERITAGE’ experience
“The starting point of all achievement is desire.” – Napolean Hill This quote is true, and five of our Shaktis have proved it to us. Sarvam Shakti is proud to tell you that our five senior Shaktis have been selected for the Heritage Internship Program. This program comes under one of Delhi’s best and most reputed schools The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj. Firstly, we congratulate The Shaktis Jyoti, Shivani, Anjali, Priyanka, and Shweta for their selection in this program. On this proud moment, we asked them to share their experience and emotions on the first day of their internship. They shared about their feelings just one day before their first day at work. The excitement for their first day at work took them shopping. They spent a whole day at the Sarojini market, Delhi’s dreamland for women, buying clothes, bags, and whatnot. Shaktis were also super excited to wear Zara shoes which were donated to them. They even decided on their dress code for their first day. They showed them to their parents, siblings, and friends. They imagined the scenarios of them entering the school, students greeting them, playing with them, and teaching them. Even small details like to dress like a teacher but also look like a friend to the students. After all, they just passed their 12th class and got their first internship at such a highly reputed school, I think this justifies their stream of emotions. Well, their first day didn’t go as they imagined. The Heritage School is one the Delhi’s most reputed and valued schools, they have their own process to test our Shaktis. The first day of the internship was spent in documentation, filling out forms, and interviewing. In the one-on-one interview, they asked our Shaktis about their journey and how they see this opportunity will help them in life. The Shaktis answered them with honesty and positivity. They praised how their smile and answers were giving a positive vibe. They passed the interviews and knew that the next day would be the day of action. flaunting their Zara shoes with wonderful photography skills The next day their mentor teachers took them to their respective classes one by one. As they entered the class, the students greeted them saying, “Good morning, mam!”. Someone calling them mam is a whole new feeling in itself. Every time the students or the teachers addressed them as mam, they felt delighted. They were assigned to teach students of 5th and 6th standard. They were not only given subjects that they are masters at teaching but also those in which they can learn and improve. This program gave them the opportunity to learn too. When we asked the Shaktis what you learned from your first day they said, “Patience!”. As the students will encounter doubts and problems repeatedly, they have to handle them gently and with love. So, this one-year internship, putting aside the Rs. 10000 stipend/month, is their opportunity to learn new things, practice what they learned, and make a better version of themselves. Once again, we congratulate them and wish them more success in the future. The journey of our senior Shaktis in the Heritage Internship Program is a testament to the power of desire and determination. From their initial excitement to the challenges they faced and the lessons they learned, their story is an inspiring reminder that passion and perseverance pave the way for success. As they embark on this one-year journey of growth and learning, we congratulate them on their achievements and look forward to witnessing their continued success. As Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." These Shaktis exemplify the spirit of unity and progress, and we eagerly anticipate the greater heights they will reach in the future.

- Five to Lead many
The first batch of Five Shaktis, whom we at Sarvam Shakti are proud to announce, will be participating in a teaching internship at The Heritage School. During our interactive session, our three core members had the opportunity to exchange insightful advice with the Five Shaktis: Priyanka, Shweta, Jyoti, Anjali, and Shivani. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk once said, "A good teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to light the way for others." Based on what we have witnessed over the years, Sarvam is certain that the Five Shaktis will illuminate everyone who crosses their path, sharing their fullness with each individual they encounter. During the session, the Shaktis and our core members engaged in a one-on-one informative and interactive discussion. They discussed various circumstances that the Shaktis would encounter as they embarked on this new journey. Mrs. Chetna Kapur, Mrs. Alka Sondhi, and Ms. Ritu Gulati, our three core members, guided in their respective areas of expertise. Mrs. Chetna Kapur, an expert on Shakti Sanjeevini, emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy and energetic lifestyle through a well-balanced diet. She advised individuals to prioritize nutritious foods such as dal, sabzi, and roti while minimizing the consumption of junk food. - Guru Purnima: Honoring Gurus, Inspiring Transformations, and Spreading Joy at Sarvam Shakti
Guru Purnima is a significant festival celebrated to honor and express gratitude towards spiritual and academic teachers, known as gurus. It holds deep meaning as it symbolizes reverence for the guru, highlights the importance of knowledge, and strengthens the disciple-guru relationship. This festival takes place on the full moon day in the month of Ashadha, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the sage Vyasa, who is revered as the Adi Guru. At Sarvam Shakti, the Guru Purnima celebration on July 3rd was a memorable event held at the Gurugram DLF Centre. The evening began with a talk by our CEO, Hemangi Bhatnagar, where she enlightened the attendees about the significance of Guru Purnima and emphasized the value of cherishing our parents, gurus, and the almighty. She also discussed the importance of nutrition and the impact it has on our overall well-being, specifically focusing on the power of sprouted daals. Following the enlightening session, a prayer was recited, "Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara; Guru Sakshat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shri Guravay Namah." This prayer acknowledges the guru as the embodiment of the divine, representing Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the organizer), and Maheshwara (Shiva, the destroyer). It expresses reverence to the guru, who leads us towards the path of light and is the ultimate embodiment of the supreme godhead. The highlight of the event was the mesmerizing performances by the Shaktis, showcasing rhythmic yoga and classical dance. They choreographed the performances themselves, and their skills and dedication were truly awe-inspiring. Mrs. Hemangi Bhatnagar, affectionately known as Aai, and the audience couldn't help but be moved by the incredible progress these girls have made in their lives. With the support of the Sarvam Foundation, these girls have achieved remarkable growth and transformation. The emotional impact of the performances left everyone in the room with a sense of wonder and admiration. Deep within their hearts, these brave young women hold a special place for Aai, as she has nurtured them as her own children. Aai has been their unwavering guru, providing unconditional love, support, and guidance. Mrs. Bhatnagar was overwhelmed by the passage of time and shared her surreal experience, expressing her immense pride and admiration for the Shaktis. She marveled at their resilience, creativity, and confidence, acknowledging the tremendous impact Sarvam Shakti has had on their lives. After the performances, the Shaktis offered a banana to Mrs. Bhatnagar, touched the feet of Aai, Vijay Bhaiya, and Beena Didi, expressing their gratitude for always being there for them through the highs and lows and guiding them. Later, those bananas were distributed to the underprivileged, symbolizing their caring and compassionate nature even in their own challenging circumstances. Overall, the Guru Purnima celebration at Sarvam Shakti was a deeply emotional and transformative day for everyone involved. The girls learned valuable lessons, showcased their talents, and exhibited their gratitude through acts of kindness.
